Monte Carlo is a level 20 Exotic Auto Rifle exclusive to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 players. Monte Carlo can be obtained through high level PvE and PvP activities such as Heroic and Nightfall Strikes, Raids, Legendary Engrams and Crucible. The drop chance is random and very low. It will be available to Xbox users on 9/15/2015, the release date of The Taken King.
Unique Upgrade: Monte Carlo Method - Dealing damage with this weapon reduces your melee cooldown.

Tips and Tricks
History
After the release of The Dark Below, Attack of the weapon was increased from 274-300 to 302-331. Players can upgrade old versions of the weapon into the new one by visiting Xur and paying 1 Exotic Shard and some Glimmer.

Monte Carlo is a reference to the statistical technique, "Monte Carlo Method," where repeat random sampling is used to assess the distribution of unknown probabilities. Popularized by John von Neumann and the first computer, ENIAC.
