The Hunter class is the agile and precise class in Destiny. Hunters are divided into 2 subclasses: Gunslinger and Bladedancer. Gunslingers are more ranged oriented, with exceptional damage and accuracy. Bladedancers are melee focused, excelling in group and close-quarters combat. While Hunters have less armor and recovery than both Titan and Warlock, they have much higher agility.

  • As a Hunter, you start off as a Gunslinger and unlock Bladedancer at level 15. Note that once you unlock Bladedancer for one character, it will be unlocked for any new Hunter characters you make in the future.
  • Unlike Warlock and Titan, both of Hunter's subclasses are purely offensive.

Play Style

Gunslinger is the closest subclass to a standard first-person shooter experience. Golden Gun gives you 3 powerful shots that instantly kills most enemies. Gunslinger's melee attack is the Throwing Knife, another ranged attack. Her grenades can into turn into a Landmine that allows the player to protect her flank.

Bladedancer is a fast and stealthy damage dealer that weaves into and out of melee combat. Her super, Arc Blade, allows the player to deal quick and powerful melee attacks. Bladedancer can teleport around the map with Blink Strike and Blink. Additionally, Bladedancer can become cloaked, invisible to enemies, with various upgrades.

Gear

A Hunter's unique gear slot is the Cloak. The stylized capes cause the Hunters to stand out from Warlocks and Titans.
