Gold Chests

Gold Chests, unlike other Chests, are not spawned randomly. There are 5 Gold Chests on each planet. They are at 5 pre-determined locations. By finding all 5 Gold Chests on each planet, player will earn a special reward.
Gold Chests on Earth

1.At the start of the second Story Mission, Restoration. On your way to section 15 where the mission tells you to go. It takes you to a flight of stairs, once you're inside, you'll be in a room. The chest is on a desk right in front of you.
2.In the 3rd Story Mission, The Dark Within. After the player defeats the Wizard. Jump on top of platforms to reach the roof / highest area then run towards the back, that is where the chest is.
3.In the 4th Story Mission, The Warmind. On your way to the Forgotten Shores, before you get to the shipyard, look around the river walls you'll notice a little trickle of water coming down a rock wall, behind that water is a cave with your chest.
4.In the 4th Story Mission, The Warmind. The chest is located further along in the Forgotten Coast. Walk along the coast itself, along the hillside. Do not stop til you find a rocky formation with the chest on top.
5.In the Strike Devil's Lair. When you're battling the final boss Sepiks Prime. The chest is located underneath the stairs / platform to your right. You can pick it up during the fight or wait til you've killed the boss.
- There are 5 Gold Chests in Old Russia, Earth. Finding all 5 chests rewards the player with a randomly colored Uncommon Sparrow. The Sparrow rewarded from finding the Gold Chests is slightly faster and more durable than the default Sparrow.
Gold Chests on Moon

1. Go to Hellmouth from Archer's Line. Seek out a rocky / stone structure around the left side right before the short bridge. The Gold Chest is behind the rocky formation.
2. Go up the hill opposite to the spawn point in Archer’s Line. Move across the damaged dome structure. Stick to the route into the Hive fortress. Go down or drop down the spiral ramp to get to the bottom of the cave. Go inside the water off to the right from the Hall of Wisdom entrance to find the Gold Chest.
- The chest will always contain a Jade Rabbit Insignia emblem.
3. This Gold Chest is in the last room in The World's Grave. Go down to the water immediately and look for the chest along the rocky wall.
4. Go into the Temple of Crota, fall to the lowest level. Go to the right and find the exit. Stick to the route and go deeper into the Hive temple. Go through the bridge and go inside the ship. Proceed to go through the right side. Stop at the end of the ramp. Gold Chest is on a small platform to the right, below you.
5. This Gold Chest is inside the Strike The Summoning Pits. In the boss arena, go to the lower floor at the far side of the room and look between the 2 staircases.
Gold Chests on Venus

1. Go down the hole in Shattered Coast and stick to the tunnel towards Ishtar Academy (same tunnel in A Stranger's Call Story Mission). Prior to reaching the bend, look backwards and the Gold Chest next to a pillar.
2. Start the Scourge of Winter Story Mission, go along the path around the exterior of the cave til you get to the upper overlook. Walk out to the sideway pole and jump to the right ledge to obtain the Chest. It is before the Ketch Ship.
3. Start the Scourge of Winter Story Mission, the Gold Chest is in the Cinders. battle to the Ketch ship. Look to your right and proceed to the very back. Go down to lower level to obtain the Chest.
4. At the end of Ishtar Collective Story Mission, go from Waking Ruins into Campus 9, go to the building far away, next to the waterfall. A Gold Chest is on the other side.
5. In The Nexus Strike, go through the Ishtar Commons and get to the N/Gen Branch. Move to the right. Go inside a tiny building and the Gold Chest should be in the central cubicles.
Gold Chests on Mars

1. Start from the Barrens spawning point, travel to the circular Cabal outpost that rests close to the exit to Scablands. The Gold Chest is on top of a bunch of crates.
2. Go to the tunnel between Barrens and the Hollows. Search for a small opening on top of area right before you reach downtown. Go into the hole, the Gold Chest should be to your right.
3. Go into the Dust Palace. Go to where the initial door opens in the Dust Palace Strike. Go to the big room where with all the staircases, go to the main staircase. Search for the door branded with the number 3. Gold Chest is located at the rear of the reception desk.
4. Go to the subway at the Tharsis Junction. Go inside it and search behind the train carts for the Vex gate in the corner. There is a tiny room behind it. Proceed into the room then slide behind the fencing at the corner on the far side. Continue with the route to reach the Gold Chest.
5. Start the Story Mission The Garden Spire. Go into the Iron Line. At the massive gate that goes into the Legion’s Keep, travel along the left pathway. Then jump on the large pipes at the corner and turn around. Jump to the walkway above on the left side and stick to it all the way to the other side obtain the Gold Chest, which is in the corner.
- Note that by finding 4 Gold Chests on Mars, players are awarded with a Strange Coin.
