Ward of Dawn is Defender's Super ability. Ward of Dawn creates a spherical shield for 30 seconds that protects not only you but also your allies from enemy fire. The sphere is about 4 meters in diameter. Although enemies cannot fire into the Ward of Dawn, player and her allies cannot fire out of it. Players and their enemies can move into and out of the Ward at any time. You can use it as a man-made cover to protect yourself from enemy bullets when they are healing or reloading. Melee attacks and some grenades function normally against the Ward.
- Ward of Dawn only blocks ranged attacks, it does nothing against melee and movement
- With the Defender perk Gift of the Void the Ward of Dawn generates Orbs of Light when it absorbs damage. The more damage it takes the more orbs are produced.
- Ward of Dawn can be destroyed after suffering very heavy damage.
Tips and Ticks
- Ward of Dawn can be used in The Crucible to block supers and Heavy Weapon fire, helping you to capture zones and secure objectives.
- Ward of Dawn can be destroyed by enemy supers.
- In PvP, the Bubble attracts enemies and their Supers. Do not linger in the Bubble for too long unless you are securing an objective.
Versus Ward of Dawn
- When you see Ward of Dawn, if you do not have your Super, do not fire at it, throw grenades at it or run into it. Your opponent could have Helm of Saint-14, which blinds all enemies that run into the Ward of Dawn.
- Ward of Dawn can be destroyed by 2 Golden Gun shots, 1 Nova Bomb or 1 Fist of Havoc.
