When your team controls 2 points, DO NOT capture the 3rd point. If you control A and B and the enemy has C, you now control the spawn. STAY AWAY FROM C. As long as a teammate doesn't get too close to point C, enemy players will continue to spawn there. Players on your team should play defensive and keep them there and take the easy win. The only caveat for capturing all 3 points is that if it's near the end of a competitive game or if your team is attempting to overcome a large deficiet.

#Learn how to flip the spawns. I've seen teams spawn at A or C and consistently throw themselves into the meatgrinder of objective B. Even if you fail in to flip spawn, the diversion of losing an objective behind them will diminish their hold on B.

#Seize the first point closest to your spawn. When the game commences I see about half of the players rush B while the others cap point A or B (whichever side you spawn). Everyone on your team gets 75 points for capping an objective. If your entire team caps the first point you will have 450 points, that's almost 5 base kills. Additionally, I think you have a better chance at capping B by heading there as a group, instead of running in 1 by 1. This tip is open to discussion, some maps have tactically substandard spawn points where capping the first objective might be damaging in the long run.

Control is a 6v6 PvP mode in The Crucible. In this mode, 12 players are split into 2 teams and battle each other to control strategic zones and kill enemy players to win the match. By participating in Dead Sectors the player will earn Crucible Marks, Crucible Gear and Crucible Reputation.

  • This mode is a mix of Team Deathmatch and Domination in other FPS games.

Description

Dead Orbit desires new territories to expand their reach beyond the City.

6v6. Fight for control of strategic battle zones. Hold your ground to gain the momentum.

Objective

The team will gain points for each enemy player killed. The team will gain more points per kill the more flags it is holding.

Flags Holding Points per Kill
0 100
1 150
2 200
3 300

With no flags, the team earns 100 points for each kill. When the team is holding 1 and 2 flags, it earns 150 and 200 points per kill. If the team controls all 3 flags, it gains a massive 300 points per kill.

The first team that reaches 20,000 points or the team that has the highest points when the time is up wins the match.

Points Allocation

Points Tasks
10 Headshot Kill Grenade Kill Melee Kill
15 Heavy Weapon Kill
25 Zone Assault Zone Defense Pilot Kill Turret Kill 5 Kill Streak Super Kill Neutralize Zone
50 Assist Kill while controlling 1 Zone 1st Place Kill 10 Kill Streak
75 Capture Zone Interceptor Kill
100 Kill Kill while controlling 2 Zones 15 Kill Streak
200 Kill while controlling 3 Zones

Tips and Tricks

  • The first team to reach 20,000 points wins. If the game goes to time, the team with the highest score at the end wins.
  • Players earn points for getting Kills and Assists, as well as Neutralizing and Capturing the Control Points.
  • Every action players do above the standard kill will give them more points. Getting kills with a headshot, melee, grenade, Super, Heavy weapons, or vehicle will all add additional points on top of each kill.
  • Most importantly, for each Control Point your team holds, everyone on that team gets a bonus modifier on every kill.
  • The great thing about Control is that as long as you are killing the enemy, grabbing Control Points, or getting Assists, every single one of those actions earns points and helps your team win.
  • Ammo Crates can be shared. When a teammate activates a crate, it will also create ammo for any nearby teammates. This is true of both Special (Green) and also Heavy (Purple). It’s a great idea to gather teammates around a Heavy Ammo Crate so everyone gets ammo, but beware that some enemies will try to bait you with this.

Super Meter

Super Meter charges up as you get kills. First kill grants 4.3% of the meter. Second kill gives 8.6%. Third and more kills give 16% of the meter each. All kills must be in the same life. As soon as you die, your kill streak resets and you're back to 4.3% for the first kill.

Flag Neutralization gives 4.3% while Flag Capture grants 16% of the meter.

  • Note that very first Flag Capture grants only 4.3% of the meter.

Strategy

1. As soon as you get too close to point C, enemies will start to spawn on your point A, nullifying all of your effort.

2. Objectives act as multipliers to your kill points. You receive no points for merely holding objectives. Additionally, the more players standing on an objective the faster it is captured.

3. NEVER go for the 3rd objective. Once you captured A and B, don't go for C, this will switch the enemies team's spawn to A i.e. behind you. Hold 2 objectives, control the choke points and you WILL win the game. This is very important. The only caveat for capturing all 3 points is that if it's near the end of a competitive game or if your team is attempting to overcome a large deficiet.

4. Learn how to flip the spawns. I've seen teams spawn at A or C and consistently throw themselves into the meatgrinder of objective B. If enemy has B well protected you can either attack as a group, or you flip the spawn by flanking and taking the corresponding objective on the other side. Even if you fail in to flip spawn, the diversion of losing an objective behind them will diminish their hold on B.

This tip is open to discussion, some maps have tactically substandard spawn points where capping the first objective might be damaging in the long run.

6. Know your roles and abilities. Hunters, you are the special forces. Turn invisible and flank the enemies. Titans are the clearing crew. The Lightning Grenades can hold a point single handedly. Voidwalkers can nuke a group of enemies with Nova Bomb. Sunsingers can utilize Solar Grenades to hold or clear points or choke points. A Sunsinger with Radiance can hold a flag single handedly. Sacrifice yourself and wait for the enemy to gathers around your dead body, then be Fireborn. Or use Radiant Skin to turn into a orange tank and bust through a choke point.

7. Use the team chat. Get out of your Party and press right on the analog stick when dead to activate team chat. Communication is the key to winning.
