This weapon causes Solar damage.

Solar Damage is one of four damage types that can be inflicted by weapons in Destiny. When damaging an enemy's shield in PvE activities, Solar rounds deal 100% of their normal damage values against Arc and Void shields while inflicting double (200%) damage to Solar shields. Note, however, that the
Match Game modifier on Heroic or Nightfall strikes will impose a significant (~75%) damage penalty when facing Arc and Void shields with this damage type.
