Players will face a pair of Cabal known as Valus Mau'ual and Valus Tlu'urn.
- Both bosses will consume an active Three of Coins.
Mechanics
This encounter begins with Valus Mau'ual as the solo combatant. He is limited to two attacks: a leaping area-of-effect slam or a short-range horizontal swipe. Players can crouch directly in front of the boss to lock him into using his horizontal swipe indefinitely; as the players are crouched, the attack will sail harmlessly overhead. Once the boss' HP has been reduced to 80%, adds will enter the arena from doors located on either side. Once the boss' HP has been further reduced to 50%, a second wave of adds will appear and the boss will flee. After these enemies have been eliminated, Valus Tlu'urn will enter the arena. For the moment, his only method of attack is to target players with a long-range mortar. Accordingly, he is highly susceptible to damage inflicted by close-quarters weapons such as shotguns or swords. As with Valus Mau'ual, adds will appear once the boss' HP has been reduced to 80%, and then again at 50%.
Phase two of the encounter begins with both Valus Mau'ual and Valus Tlu'urn returning to the arena. Both bosses will enter with 50% of their original HP, but both gain new abilities:
- Valus Mau'ual: Combustion - Mau'ual's leaping attacks become much more powerful and leave behind a lingering solar-based environmental hazard.
- Valus Mau'ual: Tempered - Mau'ual becomes immune to all forms of damage while standing in the flames left behind by his leaping attack.
- Both of these abilities have a short cooldown.
- Valus Tlu'urn: Ward - Tlu'urn will encase a small area in a damage-nullifying barrier, the mechanics of which are functionally identical to a Ward of Dawn.
- Valus Tlu'urn: Stomp - Tlu'urn will retaliate will a radial area-of-effect melee attack if players get too close. This ability exhibits a severe amount of knockback potential.
- This ability has a lengthy cooldown, but its timer will be reset if Tlu'urn moves to a different position.
