Solving Monitor Puzzle
- See also: Solving Monitor Puzzle
1. Get into Wrath of the Machine raid. defeat Vosik a second time, when you complete this, go to the front left death room, and jump up the ceiling vent, and turn on Monitor 1.
2. Once you're in the second jumping maze, following Vosik, go to the first exotic chest, which is in the room to the right, Monitor 2 will be hidden above you.
3. After the Zamboni, you will get off it before it falls, look to the right, and there will be a door protruding on the left side, shoot it, and walk inside for Monitor 3.
4. Here's where things get tricky. Clear the server room, and go into the room with the big black diamond. Once done, use map below to set people 4 people on the highlighted canisters.
5. Have the remaining two Guardians return to the prior room and have go to monitors on the far left and far right of this room.
6. The left Guardian's monitor will be the columns, and the right will be the rows. Left and right are dictated by the entrance to this room that you first come through.
7. In sync, hold down x/square and a number in binary will appear on both. Use this converter to transform those numbers into decimal form, aka numbers that make sense.
8. Using these numbers and the map, you will have the row and column that each Guardian is to move to. The first set of numbers is where the Guardian in quadrant 00 is to move to first. Then the second is for 01, the third is for 02, and the final is for 03. It should be noted that when converted, the numbers are from 0-5, so 0 indicates the real first row/column of the section.
9. Once all of the Guardians are in their new positions, the black diamond will open and Monitor 4 will be available. There is also a chest in this small space, it is my understanding that everyone will get an Exotic Engram, and The SIVA Solution emblem.
- For additional help, see the In-depth Guide on Activating Monitors and Canisters.
10. Kill Aksis, and go underneath to activate Monitor 5, and open the chest.
11. Inside this chest is a SIVA Engine. This is the start of the quest Channeling the Corruption, go back to Shiro-4.
Step 1: An Engine Less Ordinary
Task: Visit Shiro-4. He may be interested in the device you found.
Quote: "This is…? I don't know what this is." —Ghost
Objective: Visit Shiro-4
Rewards:
Tips:
Step 2: Be The Battery
Task: Complete objectives with a Fireteam comprising of a Hunter, a Titan and a Warlock.
Quote: "This thing needs energy, but not just any charge. I think we can use mismatched patterns of Light to kickstart it. Want to give it a shot? Worst-case scenario? It blows up in our faces." —Shiro-4
Objective: Nightfall Strike, Public Events in the Plaguelands 3/3, Crucible Matches or Heroic Strikes 3/3, Get Kills with a Pulse Rifle 50/50
Rewards:
Tips: The easiest way to do these, is to do the Nightfall, 3 Archon Forge missions, and throw 3 games of elimination. As for the pulse kills, you can manage them between the Forge and the Nightfall.
Step 3: That Light May Bind
Task: Synchronize the SIVA Engine's energy flow.
Quote: "Light from your Fireteam worked to power the engine. Now we just need to sync the patterns to an energy flow the device can map." —Ghost
Objective: Engine Synchronized
Rewards:
Tips: The next part is tuning the engine, so head down to the Iron temple. Go to the Inventory menu, and inspect the Siva Engine. There should be a node for you to press x/a on, and it will then look like this. If you don't want to do the math to solve it, the entries will be different for each class. They are: Warlock: 31313 Hunter: 23223 Titan: 32323 (assuming the top is 1, and bottom is 3.)
Once this is done, it will open a final column, where you once you and you're fellow guardians have entered the correct entries, you will be able to click all three nodes in this column. It will then prompt you to talk to Shiro, and you will move on.
Step 4: A Closer Look
Task: Return to Shiro-4 with the SIVA Engine.
Quote: "That did... something. The engine is charged, but its systems have shifted to keep its core functions locked. Almost as if the device doesn't want to be powered up." —Ghost
Objective: Visit Shiro-4
Tips:
Step 5: Parts of A Whole
Task: Attack the Fallen in the Plaguelands. Gather the SIVA tech Shiro-4 needs.
Quote: "This won't sound like a good idea, but I think I can weaponize this engine. We just need to get a little further under its hood, and... I'm going to need a few things." —Shiro-4
Objective: Actively explore Plaguelands 0/100%, Fight in the Archon's Forge, Destroy Sepiks Perfected.
Rewards:
Tips: The easiest way to do these is to knock out the strike, and the Archon Forge straight up. Note: if you don't have Siva Offerings to get into the Archon Forge because you used them on the earlier part of this quest, walk in to the Forge, very slowly, and you have a chance to matchmake with people who will have offerings/are currently in a Public Event down there. If after these you don't have "Actively Explore the Plaguelands" completed, you get a pretty nice amount from just opening chests.
Step 6: Equalization Equation
Task: Equalize the SIVA Engine's energy flow across patterns.
Quote: "The engine's systems are multilayered and much more complex than we thought. If I'm reading this correctly, it's powered by like patterns across multiple intakes." —Ghost
Objective: Energy Patterns Equalized
Tips: If you do not wish to solve it the hard way, use the methods listed below for you, again, based off your class. The inputs are: Warlock: 13334 Hunter: 24414 Titan: 42123 (again assuming 1 is the top, and 4 is now the bottom)
Step 7: Running the Math
Task: Return to Shiro-4 with the SIVA Engine.
Quote: "We've equalized a section of the engine's systems, but its having trouble holding the charge. Meaning it's powered, but very unstable. I hope we know what we're doing." —Ghost
Objective: Visit Shiro-4
Tips:
Step 8: Research and Destroy
Task: Defeat the Devil Splicers' leaders in the "Wrath of the Machine" Raid.
Quote: "Any chance we have at stablizing this Engine and configuring its core systems to function as intended depends on how well you take bad news..." —Shiro-4
Objective: SIVA Control Grids Collected 3/3
Tips: Once this is completed talk to Shiro again. He will now tell you (much to your dismay) to go back and complete the raid again. Nothing fancy, no monitors, just straight up beat the bosses. If you and your fireteam of 6 were the right combo (mine wasn't) you can use the same raid team again, or make new friends.
Note: Instead of running the entire raid like numerous people have recommended...you can just save the checkpoint of Vosik once you get to him on a second character and continually keep killing him until you move on to the next step. Obviously, make sure you go back on the character that you have the exotic quest on.
Step 9: An Unknowable Science
Task: Equalize the SIVA Engine's energy flow across randomized patterns.
Quote: "I hope the risk was worth it. These control grids will help stabilize the engine, but you'll need to equalize this final energy pattern before Shiro has any hope of turning it into something we can use. And, for the record, it still might blow up in our faces." —Ghost
Objective: Energy Patterns Equalized
Tips: Once this is completed, touch back down to Iron Temple with your other two guardians, alone. Now completee the last puzzle. This final one is literally all randomly generated, there is no set one per class. Use this converter and enter the info on your screen to get the correct sequence.
Once all three of you have done it, you will be able to click the furthest right node, and will now talk to Shiro to complete.
Step 10: Outbreak Prime
Task: Return to Shiro-4 with the Infection Engine.
Quote: "You ready for this?" —Shiro-4
Objective: Return to Shiro-4
Reward: Outbreak Prime
Tips:
