Black Spindle is a level 30 Exotic Sniper Rifle. To obtain the weapon, players need to trigger a special event during the mission Lost to Light as a Daily Heroic Story (240 Light).

How to Acquire

  • Go through the mission quickly, you can die but your fireteam cannot wipe.
  • When you reach the third door with the 3 relics, do not place the relics, instead go past the door to where the you board the Tanik's Ketch, from The Shadow Thief strike.
  • If you made it to the doorway fast enough and did not wipe, the door will be open and you will have 10 minutes to defeat all the Taken in the Ketch including a Taken Captain named Driviks.
  • if you complete the objective within 10 minutes, everyone on your fireteam is awarded Black Spindle. If you fail you will be sent back to the orbit.

Perks

Column 1

  • Solar Damage - This weapon causes solar damage.
  • Infusion - Consume a more powerful Weapon to boost the Attack value of this Weapon.

Column 2

  • Ambush SLH25 - Agile, snappy scope. Handles beautifully. Rewards a skilled hand.
  • TacSys SLS15 - Mid-zoom scope. Useful for unpredictable situations.
  • Hawkeye SLR15 - Mid-zoom precision scope. Increased range and target acquisition. Heavy.

The scope won't actually change.

Column 3

  • White Nail - Three consecutive precision hits in rapid succession will refill the magazine.

  • Mulligan - Missing a shot has a chance to return ammo directly to the magazine.

Tips and Tricks

The best and easiest strategy to clear the final room with the boss is with exotic swords. Two fireteam member should have the swords, as class are Warlocks with radiance preferred. Directly after the fireteam enter the final room, the Warlocks jump on the plattform where the boss is and start fighting against him with the swords until both die. 10 second later both warlocks use radiance and start fighting against the boss, the third fireteam member distract some of the massive adds below. The Warlocks keep fighting with the swords until they die again.

Normally aftet this two swordphases, to boss has nearly lost 75% in really no time and the remaining adds and bosslife should not be a problem. Is the Boss dead, focus the black blights and then all enemies in the room.
