How to Obtain
Acquired by	Obtained by earning Experience Points beyond the level cap and completing high-level activities.

Mote of Light is a currency used to purchase items from The Speaker.

• Do not confuse Mote of Light, a currency, with Light, the stat.

• Mote of Light is obtained by earning experience points after reaching the maximum level of 20. After reaching level 20, your character's experience bar is replaced by a Mote of Light bar. When the player earns experience points, the bar fills up. When the bar becomes full, the player earns 1 Mote of Light.

• Rare Engrams

• First Gold medal completion of a Public Event of the day. You might get Strange Coins instead.

• Mote of Light can be used to purchase Emblems and Class Armor from The Speaker in The Tower.

• Exotic Engrams from Xur when they become available.

• Used for Reforge and Tempered Buff during Iron Banner Event.

• Used to enter Trials of Osiris.
