General Information

Taking place in The Dreadnaught, Court of Oryx is dictated by the players. Count of Oryx is divided into 3 tiers of difficulty. Players can determine the difficulty tier of the battle by sacrificing runes of different quality/rarity. Because each difficulty tier has various boss encounters, players will receive one selected at random from that tier. Each boss has its own unique mechanic. Players will receive clues on how to defeat the boss and complete the encounter. Players also need to complete the event within a timer.
Players can obtain runes around the world of Destiny or purchase them from a "merchant". The player that sacrificed the rune to the statue will receive better rewards than other players just participating. That player cannot sacrifice another rune for 40 seconds after the completion of the event.
Tier 1 Difficulty
Easiest difficulty, ideal for immediately finishing The Taken King Story Missions.
- 1 Knight: everytime Vorlog's shield goes down, it changes into a different element, Arc, Solar or Void.
- 3 Wizards: you have to kill all 3 wizards at the same time. If you only kill 1 wizard, it will respawn after a short time if the other 2 are still alive. Evenly get all of them low, then kill them.
- 2 Knights: you have to get them near each other to take away their shields. If they are far away from each other, their shields make them invulnerable. After 1 Knight is dead, the other Knight's shield disappears.
- 1 Ogre: the Ogre will only lose its invulnerable shield when an Cursed Thrall do damage to it. Players will have some time to damage the Ogre after each shield down.
- 1 Taken Centurion: Bracus has an invulnerable shield that goes down when all of its minions are dead. Players will have some time to damage the Centurion before its shield comes back up.
Tier 2 Difficulty
Tier 2 features bosses from Tier 1. Instead of fighting them 1 set at a time, players will battle 2 sets at a time. The sets are chosen randomly. Additionally, all enemies have higher levels.
