Hobgoblins are specialized Vex units capable of dealing heavy damage from afar. Unlike Goblins, Hobgoblins will use range and cover to their advantage. Additionally, they can spawn a Stasis Shield that make them temporarily invulnerable.
Tactics
When Hobgoblin takes damage, it uses an orange stasis field to make them invulnerable to damage for a few seconds. Players can prevent this invulnerability by killing it in 1 hit or shooting off its head. When its head is destroyed, it will wildly charge forward similar to Goblins. Unlike Goblins, Hobgoblins will use cover and range. Hobgoblins armed with Line Rifles will attempt to snipe you from distance.
- When Hobgoblin's eye is glowing red, it has its stasis shield ready.
Players can attempt to 1-shot hobgoblin at its weakspot, the stomach, with a powerful weapon or wait til after it uses Stasis then unleash all of your damage.
Lore
- Main article: Hobgoblin (Grimoire Card)
Specialized for sniping, this lean, tough Vex model is fitted with improved optics and acute sensors in its horns. Like the Goblin, the Hobgoblin contains a milky radiolarian fluid.
Attacking a Hobgoblin often triggers a defensive reflex - the Hobgoblin seals itself in stasis and waits for help.
