Mote of Light is a currency used to purchase items from The Speaker.
Obtained By
- Mote of Light is obtained by earning experience points after reaching the maximum level of 40. After reaching level 40, your character's experience bar is replaced by a Mote of Light bar. When the player earns experience points, the bar fills up. When the bar becomes full (requires 25,000 EXP), the player earns 3 Mote of Light.
- First Gold medal completion of a Public Event of the day. You might get Strange Coins instead.
Used For
- Mote of Light can be used to purchase Emblems and Class Armor from The Speaker in The Tower.
- Exotic Engrams from Xur when they become available.
- Used for Reforge and Tempered Buff during Iron Banner Event.
- Used to enter Trials of Osiris.
- In Year 2, Motes of Light can be used to give your weapons and armor experience points to unlock perks.
