The Nexus is a level 14 Strike found in Ishtar Sink, Venus. The activity requires a group of 1 to 3.

Speed Run Tips

  • No sparrow! This is the section that I see people get distracted by the enemies. I know they are tempting, but please just move to the next section!
  • The three servitors: Try to memorize where the servitors and enemies spawn. If you do this, a well-placed super can removed tons of enemies quickly. Just focus the servitors to kill them quickly. This part can be skipped by jumping through a window, but you will likely just leave your fireteam members behind and slow the whole thing down. EDIT: Apparently jumping through this window breaks things so don't do it.
  • The Nexus: Once again don’t cheese this boss!!! Don’t hide up in the hallway and don’t hide on some obscure pillar or in some hole. Just shoot Sekrion in the eye with your highest damage guns and clear the other enemies as soon as they spawn. A great spot to stand here is in the lowest areas where you can crouch behind a step and shoot him constantly because his shots will hit the step ahead of you and miss you.

Sekrion, Nexus Mind

Sekrion, Nexus Mind is a gigantic Vex Hydra type of enemy. Its weakspot is its central, glowing eye. Fire at it for critical hits.

Attacks

Aeon Maul: Bright, blue and explosive projectiles are fired at players. Make sure you take cover from these shots.

Stomp: When players get into the center of the boss room, Sekrion will do a ground pound and knock all players back.

Strategy

Sekrion has a large, rotating force shield that protects the boss from all incoming fire from that side of the shield. Sekrion only stays in the center, circular part of the boss room. It does not leave that area.

After defeating the Minotaur add in the boss room, Sekrion lowers into the arena. You need to wait for the boss' shield to move out of your line of sight in order to damage the boss. While you can hit the top of Sekrion's head even with the shield is in front of you, the target is small and you do not deal critical damage.

Players should disperse around the boss room and use the broken pillars and other structures as cover. When the boss' shield is away, players should fire a few shots at it then move into cover. As waves of Vex adds spawn, please fight them behind cover or you can be devastated by Sekrion. Also watch out for Minotaur charges.
