Year 2

In Year 2, Faction Allegiance is introduced to allow players to allow players to gain reputation with Dead Orbit, Future War Cult and New Monarchy without equipping their Class Armor. Players pledge allegiance to the faction NPC they want to gain reputation with. When players perform activities in game that earn them Crucible Reputation or Vanguard Reputation, they will also gain reputation with their chosen faction.

  • Faction ranks earn from Year 1 is carried over to Year 2.
  • Players can pledge Allegiance to a different faction once per week.

As players gain reputation and rank up with the faction, they will be able to purchase the faction items and receive faction packages.

Year 1

While most Faction items are sold by their perspective vendors. Some Faction Items are not sold. They can be acquired by ranking up your reputation with that faction. Each rank up has a chance of getting you that item from the Postmaster mail.

Most Faction Items are sold by the vendors. They usually cost Vanguard Marks / Crucible Marks and/or Vanguard Commendation / Crucible Commendation if you have adequate reputation levels with that faction. Occasionally some Faction Items require other currencies to purchase.

Most Faction weapons and armor sold by Vendors in The Tower have specific stats and upgrades. To get the same weapon or armor with other stats and upgrades you need to get the weapon or armor from a random source such as Strike, Engram or The Crucible.
