Gift of Light an upgrade for Defender's melee attack Disintegrate. While Force Barrier, created by Disintegrate, is active, all of your melee kills spawn Orbs of Light. You do not need to get kills with Disintegrate to generate Orbs, you just need to get kills while Force Barrier is active.
