The Summoning Pits is a level 12 Strike found in Ocean of Storms, Moon. The activity requires a group of 1 to 3.

Strike-Specific Loot:

Walkthrough

1. Enter Hive Fortress: go inside the Gatehouse, kill the 3 Hive Knights that defend the doorway.

2. Approach the Gate: A large group of a Wizard and other Hive enemies inhabit the overlook region. Defeat the enemies and proceed into the sword room.

3. Open the Gate: Get closer to the gate and set up your Ghost in order to get it open. This takes some time, as Hives enemies began to spawn.

4. Repel the Hive: As Hive enemies spawn, the area turns into a Darkness Zone.The initial wave is made of Thralls and Knights. Kill the Thralls first then eliminate the Knights on the left balcony. In the 2nd wave, Acolytes are alongside Wizards and Knights spawn at the right balcony. To avoid getting surrounded or taking too much fire, move between levels and sides. The 3rd wave spawns in the back of the room. A mini-boss, Cursed Thrall, appears along with Knights and Acolytes. As you're defeating this group, a Major Wizard and additional Knights enter the battle. Make sure you are always moving and watch the backs of your teammates.

Attacks

Eye Blast: Phogoth features a Eye Blast similar to the smaller Ogres, however it is a lot more potent and acts as an impressive wave of energy beam. When the Ogre fires it at you, run and find cover ASAP.

Ground Slam: When you get close to the giant, it does a spin attack that slams the ground and knocks all the players back.

Strategy

As you enter the fight do not spend too much time in the narrow entryway as you enter the arena because of the incoming adds including a Shrieker. Go in the big boss room, kill adds and attack the boss as you alternate between the floor level and balconies to avoid being swarmed by adds. There will be ships dropping additional Hive adds to the ground floor, when you're bailing to the lower platform, be careful of them.

When the Boss fires its giant Eye Laser, run and take cover.

  • You can assign 1 to 2 players to add duties while the rest of the player(s) target the boss.
  • If both of your teammates are dead, do not risk it, just let them respawn through the timer. Only resurrect them when it is safe.

At the end of the fight be sure to open the Gold Chest at the lower platform.
