Private Matches are created in special lobbies while in Orbit. Through the [[Crucible]] menu, team leader can choose Private Match and others can join him. They can switch teams by pressing L1/R1 (PlayStation 4) or LB/RB (Xbox One). Players can even switch teams while the match is live. They can do this by entering Navigation Mode by pressing the Touchpad(PlayStation 4) or the View Button (Xbox One), use the D-Pad to view the Scoreboard, and hold Right on the D-Pad to switch teams.

Private Match allows players to set up their own Crucible matches with large degree of customization. Private Match allows you to play any PvP Modes on any PvP Maps with any players. Team sizes range from 0 to 6 and you can set various Score, Time Limit, Light Level advantages, time of day and Vehicle spawns.

Players and Clans can even use Private Matches to organize Tournaments.

Limitations

For Team Game Modes, 1 to 12 players are required to start the game. For Free-For-All modes, 1 to 6 players are required.

Players need to have Playstation Plus or Xbox Live Gold memberships to participate.

Players must have the necessary expansion and console to access expansion-specific and console exclusive maps and modes.

How To Change Voice Channels

Before A Match

Toggle Team (Match Team only) and Fireteam (entire Lobby) by pressing L1/R1 (PlayStation 4) or LB/RB (Xbox One).

During A Match

  1. Enter Navigation Mode by pressing the Touchpad (PlayStation 4) or the View Button (Xbox One).
  2. Use the D-Pad to view Voice Channel.
  3. Press Left on the D-Pad to enter the Fireteam Voice Channel.
  4. Press Right on the D-Pad to enter the Team Voice Channel.
