Faction Allegiance is a reputation mechanic introduced in The Taken King. In Year 2, players no longer need to equip faction specific Class Armor to earn reputation points with Dead Orbit, Future War Cult and New Monarchy. Instead, players can pledge allegiance to the faction's NPC. When players perform activities in game that earn them Crucible Reputation or Vanguard Reputation, they will also gain reputation with their chosen faction.
- Players can only pledge Allegiance to a faction once per week.
Certain Material can be exchanged in order to advance your standing with the specific faction:
- Mote of Light (x5) [Yields 100 Rep]
- Weapon Parts (x25) [Yields 75 Rep]
- Armor Materials (x25) [Yields 50 Rep]
- Special Ammo Synthesis (x4) [Yields 25 Rep]
- Heavy Ammo Synthesis (x1) [Yields 25 Rep]
