Taking place in Hall of Souls in The Dreadnaught, Court of Oryx is dictated by the players. Count of Oryx is divided into 3 tiers of difficulty. Tier 1 has recommended Light score of 190, Tier 2 has recommended Light score of 240 and Tier 3 has recommended Light score of 300. Tier 3 Difficulty
Tier 3 has recommended Light score of 300. It features a main bosses that rotate each week. The first week's boss was named Kagoor, he had a mini-boss called Servite Ogre. The second week's boss was named Thalnok, Fanatic of Crota.
Kagoor
Phase 1: Servite Ogre:
Kagoor is immune to damage until the players defeat Servite Ogre. Numerous adds will be around including Ogres, Devoured Shadow and Maleficent Eye. Players need to kill Maleficent Eyes to gain a stacking buff called Ogre's Fury. The buff increases your damage to Ogres, allowing you to kill Ogre adds and Servite Ogre faster. Each Maleficent Eye kill grants 1 stack of the buff, the buff lasts seconds and stacks up to 3 times.
Use the pillars to avoid Servite Ogre's attacks. Keep the 3x buffs up by killing a Maleficent Eye when your buff is running low. Kill the Ogre adds as they spawn.
Phase 2: Kagoor:
As soon as Servite Ogre dies, Kagoor become vulnerable to damage. Additionally, 3 Ogre adds will spawn in the middle.
Use your supers and Heavy Weapons to kill Kagoor ASAP, it has fairly low health pool.
Reward:
- Calcified Fragment XLIX
- Completion of The Court of Oryx
Thalnok, Fanatic of Crota
Strategy:
- Thalnok spawns at the rift with a Wizard on both sides, in the middle of the ground level a named swordbearer appears along with a lot of thrash mobs covering the area.
- The boss mechanics are almost similiar to Crota: the boss has a strong shield and becomes immune to all damage except for the sword relic if his shield is broken.
- The named swordbearer will drop the sword relic necessary to damage Thalnok's HP.
- The two wizards who accompany him change up the encounter a little bit, while these two are still alive Thalnok's shield will refresh in short intervals, it's very hard to get it down this way so kill the Wizards quickly, like all hive wizards they have a solar shield so make sure some people on your team are carrying solar damage to break the shield quickly.
- Thalnok's vulnerability window is pretty short and you'll have usually get in 3 heavy attacks, after that back off because he will 1-hit you if you're still close when he gets up.
- The sword relic lasts long enough to get two vulnerability phases in if you work together, we never managed to get a third one before the sword ran out.
- After the sword runs out, all of his assets will respawn: the swordbearer, the two wizards and the thrash mobs.
- The sword's damage seemed to depend on the wielder's light level.
Reward:
- Calcified Fragment XLVII
- Completion of The Court of Oryx
