Court of Oryx is a Public Event released in The Taken King.

General Information
Taking place in Dreadnaught, Court of Oryx is dictated by the players. Count of Oryx is divided into 4 tiers of difficulty. Players can determine the difficulty tier of the battle by sacrificing runes of different quality/rarity. Because each difficulty tier has various boss encounters, players will receive one selected at random from that tier. Players will also receive clues on how to defeat the enemies and complete the encounter.
Players can obtain runes around the world of Destiny or purchase them from a "merchant".
Level one foes aren't too tough - requiring you to blast through shields of ever-changing Damage Type, for instance. Or taking on two Hive Knights who are invincible until you coax them towards one another. But tier two encounters throw you up against multiple bosses at once while stage three challenges pit you against enemies as tough as anything in the Raids.
