Ether chest was introduced in patch 1.2.0 of Destiny. After defeating a Wanted Fallen from Wanted Bounties, you will receive a buff called Ether Key for 1 minute 30 seconds. During the buff, you need to find a chest that spawns at a random location nearby. See the various wanted bounties for possible locations.
- Note that you do not need to have the Wanted Bounty, you can receive the buff by participate in the killing. If you die right before the death of the Wanted Bounty, you will not receive the buff. If you die with the buff, you will lose it.
The chest contains Ammo Synthesis, engrams of various rarity, materials and Treasure Keys.
