Armor are gear [[items]] that can be equipped to increase [[defense]], [[stats]] and [[light]] of the player. Armor are categorized into 5 slots. [[Helmets]], [[Chest Armor]], [[Gauntlets]] and [[Leg Armor]] increase stats and attributes while [[Class Armor]] is merely cosmetic.

In [[House of Wolves]], old [[Legendary]] and [[Exotic]] armor can be upgraded to the highest [[light]] and [[defense]] with the [[Ascend]] [[perk]]. Upgrading costs [[Etheric Light]] and [[Exotic Shard]] for legendary and exotic items respectively.
